We are fortunate enough to work with the following accomplished and talented engineers. If you do not have your own engineer for your project, give us a call to discuss which of the following is the best fit.
Fernando Lodeiro, Engineer/Producer
Fernando is a GRAMMY Award Winning Engineer, Mixer, and Producer based in Brooklyn where he has his own studio and who free-lances for countless studios around the world.
As a young child in Caracas, Venezuela, Fernando Lodeiro always wanted to play the guitar, but it wasn’t until the age of 14 that he finally got the guitar he longed for. Fernando was self-taught, and began playing in bars around the city with musicians sometimes twice his age by the time he was 15. After graduating with honors from high school at the age of 16, Fernando moved to Mexico City to study at the “Academia de Música Fermatta”. It was the first time that Fernando studied guitar and music formally. After one semester, he auditioned for Berklee College of Music and got a scholarship from The World Scholarship Tour. Along with the World Scholarship, Fernando received a full scholarship from SGAE (Sociedad de Autores y Compositores), the Berklee International Network Augmentation Scholarship, and funding from a private organization that permitted him to attend Berklee College of Music where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in Music Production and Engineering in August of 2007.
At the end of October 2007, Fernando moved to New York City and after just two weeks, started working at “Avatar Studios”, widely regarded as one of the best 10 recording studios in the world. Since then, Fernando has worked with artists like Paul McCartney, Esperanza Spalding (with whom he won his first GRAMMY Award), Lady Gaga, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend, Regina Spektor, Ingrid Michaelson, Ben Folds, Olly Murs, Mary J Blige, India Arie, Christian McBride, Chick Corea, Wynton Marsalis, Joshua Bell, and many others including Broadway Musicals and many Film Scores.
Fernando has also worked as the front of the house engineer for world acclaimed saxophone player Kenny Garrett with whom he’s toured the world.
Currently Fernando spends most of his time producing, recording and mixing with many bands as well as writing with different artists.
J. Luke Young, Engineer/Producer
A fresh face to the world of audio engineering, Luke already has experience recording a wide variety of musical genres, working with artists ranging from classical to pop-a cappella.
Luke started as a self-taught audio engineer, using the resources he had on hand to record his own original music. While falling in love with the engineering process, Luke realized the limitations of self-teaching and bedroom recording, and decided to pursue an internship under André Maquera at West Street Digital Recording Studio in St. Albans, Vermont. There, Luke built upon his existing knowledge in a more acoustically and technologically ideal situation, learning from André as he worked with many different artists. After meeting Yasmin Tayeby during the construction of what would become Meadowlark Studios, Luke joined the Meadowlark team and has been a fixture there since the first session in early 2016. At Meadowlark, he has worked both alongside and under many talented and accomplished industry veterans, further growing his knowledge and experience in the field.
As house engineer and assistant, Luke has a solid knowledge of the inner-workings and sonics of Meadowlark Studios, ensuring that you will have a relaxing and worry-free session with him as you fine-tune your sound.
When he’s not at Meadowlark, Luke spends his time writing music, working on his ’79 Suzuki motorcycle, and singing in an all-male a cappella group.
